Chris Fehn is OUT of Slipknot

Just this morning, it was announced that Chris Fehn will no longer be an active member of metal giants SLIPKNOT.

A statement on the band’s website reads

Slipknot’s focus is on making album #6, and our upcoming shows around the world, our best ever. Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims, rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the oath that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of life.

Long Live the Knot.

This departure comes after Fehn alleged that shady dealings were cheating him out of money garnered by the band. (Specifically Shawn “Clown” Crahan and Corey Taylor.)

Fehn has asked for all financial documents to undergo a forensic investigation to uncover any surreptitious moneys.

Sadly, as the past has shown us, many of these court cases do not find in favor of the plaintiff. This is mainly due to a lack of understanding of the music industry on many parts. (See the previous Op-Ed piece: The REAL Reason It Costs So Much for more information.)

It appears that the music industry is becoming more and more litigious these days.

Hopefully this will be resolved in a timely matter with Fehn and Slipknot coming to a mutual understanding.
